Saving is also a lot more forgiving than it was in the original. The addition of a fast travel option also helps remove some of the anxiety from running out of time as you travel from one place to the next. At the top of the list are improving gameplay options for time manipulation and saving. Meanwhile, time management - which gave the game a greater sense of urgency but also stressed some players who preferred being able to explore without limits - is now more manageable. At the same time, it includes new elements, such as more fine tuned mechanics for boss fights. It starts with the graphics, which look much improved on the 3DS. The good news for fans of the game is that the 3DS version does a great job of retaining the classic Majora's Mask experience while adding some much needed polish to bring the game more up to speed with modern gaming conventions. After longtime Zelda director and producer Eiji Aonuma dropped a cryptic hint about Majora's Mask when I asked him last year about other Zelda titles that might get the remake treatment, Nintendo made it official shortly thereafter by announcing "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D" for the 3DS.

For others, however, Majora's unconventional approach and ability to elicit strong emotions made it a watershed title for a genre that still didn't get much mainstream respect as a storytelling medium the same way movies do.
